I have just received a grant to support an International network of researchers from four countries: Denmark, China, Brazil, and Japan. This networking project, called ArchClouds: Architecting for Cloud-enabled software systems, is aimed at providing researchers from IT University of Copenhagen (ITU) Denmark, ICT, Chinese academic of Sciences Beijing, China, Wesada University of Japan, and Federal University of Bahia (UFBA), Brazil with opportunities to exchange knowledge and experiences pertaining to the key challenges of architecting Cloud computing based system. One of the main outcomes from these networking activities will be a common research agenda for future collaborative research projects on cloud computing. Two of the main activities of this project will be my research stay with Prof. Yanbo Han’s group at the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and a workshop in Denmark. The planned workshop on Cloud computing would gather the researchers from four institutes for a couple of days in Copenhagen this summer with the intention of having extensive discussions and exchange of ideas in order to draw concrete plan of actions for forming a strong collaborative research network in the area of Cloud computing. I’m very much looking forward to my trip to China and then our workshop on Cloud computing.
